To: Dr. Smith

Dear Dr. Smith,

I am writing regarding Ms. Julia Brown, a 29-year-old patient with a history of asthma who has been using her Salbutamol inhaler as a reliever therapy.

During her recent visit, she reported frequent use of her inhaler, almost daily, and described occasional night-time wheezing along with exertional breathlessness. She has not previously been prescribed a preventer inhaler, and her asthma appears suboptimally controlled.

Although she has no smoking history and manages to avoid major triggers, her reliance on a short-acting beta-agonist is concerning. I discussed with her the importance of long-term control and the role of an inhaled corticosteroid.

I would recommend reviewing her asthma management plan and considering the addition of a preventer inhaler to improve her symptom control and reduce reliance on reliever therapy.

Yours sincerely,
