Subject: Discharge Summary for “Thunder”

Dear Mr. Blake,

Thank you for bringing Thunder in after his leg injury. He sustained a deep laceration on the left foreleg, which was cleaned, debrided, and sutured under local anesthesia.

Thunder has responded well to treatment. The wound currently appears clean with only mild swelling. Please continue administering the prescribed course of penicillin injections for five days and flunixin for three days as advised.

Change the leg bandage every two days using sterile gauze and keep the area dry. Observe for any discharge, foul odour, or excessive swelling; if noted, contact the clinic immediately. The sutures can be removed in ten days, provided healing continues normally.

Please limit his movement to a confined paddock to prevent strain on his wound. With good care, full recovery is expected within two weeks.

Kind regards,
Dr. Aparna Joseph, BVSc
